 Michael investigates how people are protecting their families from potentially violent crimes. Have you ever heard the name Matt Fludgate? Neither had resident James Turner until his son had been placed into his gym class earlier this year. Turner was quick to let us know, "My 15 year old son use to come home every day and tell me that something didn't seem right about this guy. He would touch the boys in my son's class innapropriately in the locker room." After contacting the principal at Central High School numerous times and failing to get a response, James Turner took matters into his own hands. "First I had to prove that what my son was claiming was real. If this guy really was touching students innapropriately I needed evidence." Turner had heard of a website named Instant Checkmate where you can run a criminal background check on just about anyone. He decided to run a criminal background report on his son's gym teacher. The results were shocking. Instant Checkmate found that Matt Fludgate has been convicted of 2 previous sex crimes involving minors. "I thank god for that website. Without it I would have never been able to prove the truth to my son's school district." Turner stated. Turner handed off the evidence to his son's school district and within a week Matt Fludgate was fired from Central High School for misconduct. He ran the names of ten contractors working for News 10 through the online background check website. The results were shocking to say the least.. Two convicted of sex crimes dating back to 2008, One of homicide in 1988.
